ABC’s “The Bachelor” Casting Call – Here’s How To Apply!

0

When you think of the show The Bachelor, what do you think of?

What comes to mind are attractive people looking for love. However, what isn’t apparent is that there is an open casting call behind these scenes nearly all of the time. This means anyone can go.

The show has become such a phenomenon that it’s easy to forget these Bachelor tryouts. The show producers are still looking for the right candidate to make good TV and eventually receive proposals from all twenty-five contestants vying for their hearts.

Typically, there is a casting call each season for The Bachelor. There is a Bachelor tryout one every four months until the actual show begins filming about six weeks later. It’s easy to see why there is such a turn-out of women trying to get on this show. Around 20,000 people typically attend the open call at each city to try their chances. Those numbers are staggering compared to the 300-400 applicants to the show during its first season back in 2002.

How to apply for a Bachelor Casting Call

Although the open casting calls were typically held in large cities like Los Angeles and New York, they’ve also expanded to smaller cities like San Juan, Puerto Rico. This makes it possible for more women across the country to make their way down to these open casting calls. Not only is there an application process on ABC’s website, but another is to fill out an ABC application that is available at each open call.

Of course, there are other ways that women can be in contention for a spot on The Bachelor/Bachelorette. One of the most well-known is to send in a video submission through the show’s website or even YouTube. Although this doesn’t guarantee any spots, it’s one way to have your 15 minutes of fame. Another is to be good friends with someone close to the show. If you are someone’s best friend or even relative, there may be a chance for an application to come your way.

Chicago-Filmed “Empire” To End After Season 6

0

Chicago-filmedEmpire” is coming to an end.

Fox announced on Monday, following the national controversy over Jussie Smollett’s future on the show that the show is coming to an end.

“We are turning the final season into a television event, we are trying to go out guns blazing,” Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier said, according to Deadline.

“You allow fans to lean in and have the ending they deserve,” he added.

Fox Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV wrote Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon, out of the final two episodes of the show’s fifth season amid his legal battles and confirmed last month there were “no plans” for him to return.

Fox previously was open to keeping the actor on the show after he was charged with 16 counts of felony disorderly conduct for allegedly making up a hate crime he said he experienced. When charges were dropped against the actor, Fox welcomed him back to the show. But when pressed Monday on whether Smollett would be making a return for the final season, Collier said, “At this point, we have no plans for that.”

He also noted “the writers’ room for next season hasn’t even gathered yet,” according to Variety.

The show will air on the Tuesday slot at 9 p.m. “Season Six promises to be filled with drama, shocking surprises and more jaw-dropping moments,” the network said in a release, according to The Wrap.

“The award-winning drama about a family dynasty set within the glamorous and sometimes dangerous world of hip-hop music has generated chart-topping hits, and socially relevant storylines introduced ‘Boo Boo Kitty’ into the zeitgeist and delivered over-the-top OMG moments weekly.

“Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious (Terrence Howard), the two larger-than-life characters at the center of the series, have taken viewers through the highs and lows that come with fame and fortune. As the series enters its final season, one thing is for sure, the Lyons never go out without a bang,” according to the network.

In a shocking reversal, Chicago prosecutors dropped all charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett just weeks after he was indicted on 16 felony counts for allegedly filing a false police report.

After his court appearance, his attorneys released a statement saying that the actor’s “record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him.”

“Jussie was attacked by two people he was unable to identify on January 29th. He was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public causing an inappropriate rush to judgment,” the statement read.

“Jussie and many others were hurt by these unfair and unwarranted actions. This entire situation is a reminder that there should never be an attempt to prove a case in the court of public opinion. That is wrong. It is a reminder that a victim, in this case, Jussie, deserves dignity and respect. Dismissal of charges against the victim, in this case, was the only just result.”

ABC Cancels “Whiskey Cavalier” After Only One Season

0

ABC has canceled “Whiskey Cavalier“.

ABC put their backing behind the show, which starred “Scandal” leading man Scott Foley and “The Walking Dead” survivor Lauren Cohan as Will Chase and Frankie Trowbridge, an FBI agent and CIA operative who spent as much time with jokes as they did with working cases.

The premiere was given a preview-time slot right after the Academy Awards in February. But the show’s demographics fell since then, and as of May 9th, the show averaged 0.57 making it ABC’s third-lowest-rated hour drama only slightly above “The Fix” and “For the People”.

The show also starred Tyler James Williams, “Devious Maids” Ana Ortiz and “Cougar Town”s Josh Hopkins. Foley addressed the cancellation in an Instagram video on Sunday, calling the decision a “tough call” for ABC.
