HBO’s ‘The Gilded Age‘ is now casting and hiring actors in New York City.

HBO Casting directors are now hiring actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in New York City starting this February 2020. Producers are looking for babies, background actors, photo doubles, stand-ins, and other positions for acting jobs as the show films throughout NYC.

About HBO’s ‘The Gilded Age’:

The stars of the new HBO drama series from the Downton Abbey creator will feature Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, and Amanda Peet. HBO describes the show as a series set in 1882 during the American Gilded Age, which is a “period of immense economic change when huge fortunes were made and lost, Marian Brook, the orphaned daughter of a Union general, moves into the home of her rigidly conventional aunts in New York City. Accompanied by the mysterious Peggy Scott, an African-American woman masquerading as her maid, Marian gets caught up in the dazzling lives of her stupendously rich neighbors, as she struggles to decide between adhering to the established rules of society, or forging her own path in a new world on the brink of transformation.”

‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan‘ is now casting talent in New York City.

About ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’:

“Power Book II: Raising Kanan,” “Power Book IV: Influence” and “Power Book V: Force” are the newest collection of series’ that will proceed to discuss the stories and watch the lives of old and new characters within the “Power” landscape.

“Raising Kanan” is a prequel set in the ‘90s during the early years of “Power” character Kanan Stark, played by 50 Cent. “Influence” will follow Rashad Tate (Larenz Tate) in his pursuit of political power as he runs for governor. Finally, “Force” centers on Tommy Egan after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good, as he heads for California.

Jeffrey Hirsch, President & CEO of Starz, had this to say regarding the new projects:

“In television history, only a select few shows have inspired four consecutive series extensions, launched into active production and development at the same time. ‘Jurassic World 3’ Starring Chris Pratt Open Casting Call

‘Jurassic World 3‘ is now casting extras.

According to reports, an open casting call has been made for extras needed for Jurassic World 3, the next installment of the franchise.

The next film in the Jurassic Park franchise will star Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern and more. Plot Details are currently under wraps.

The previous ‘Jurassic World’ movie filmed from February to July 2017 in the United Kingdom and in Hawaii. Produced and distributed by Universal Pictures, the Fallen Kingdom was released in the United States on June 22, 2018. The film earned over $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the third Jurassic film to pass the billion-dollar mark, and was the third-highest-grossing film of 2018 and the 15th highest-grossing film of all-time.

That said, the movie received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Pratt and Howard’s acting and the “surprisingly dark moments”, while others suggested the series had run its course, criticizing its screenplay and narrative. An untitled sequel is set to be released on June 11, 2021, with Trevorrow returning to direct.

Jurassic World 3 is heading to British Columbia filming under the working title Arcadia. The new movie will film a number of scenes for the new movie between February 24th and March 6th, 2020. ‘Birds of Prey’ Falls Flat at the Box Office

‘Birds of Prey’, Margot Robbie’s DC superhero feature film opened to almost $20 million behind estimations.

Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn flopped in its box office debut over the weekend, earning a lukewarm $33.3 million from 4,236 theaters to mark one of the lowest domestic launches in recent history for a studio superhero pic notwithstanding strong reviews.

The female-film did not do well overseas. The movie earned 48 million from 78 markets for a global start of $81.3 million. That said, the coronavirus is impacting box office earnings in Asian markets outside of China, including South Korea, where Birds of Prey grossed a muted $1.9 million.

The movie never meant to have huge earning with an R rating. That said, Warner Bros. had been tracking to start off with at least $50 million in North America and $60 million or more offshore.

That said, the movie will at least come in No. 1 in the box office.

Cathy Yan directed the ‘Suicide Squad’ spinoff, which features Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn. The movie features Jussie Smollett’s sister, Jurnee Smollett-Bell (as Black Canary), Rosie Perez (as Renee Montoya), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (as Huntress) and Ewan McGregor also star.

This is the lowest box office opening in the DC Extended Universe since 2019’s ‘Shazam!’ with $53 million. Among other superhero titles with low box office openings include ‘Dark Phoenix’ which made $32.8 million in the United States at a higher budget than ‘Birds of Prey’.

Hopefully, ‘Birds of Prey’ will make additional revenue during President’s Day weekend and in future weeks.

Birds of Prey earned strong reviews while receiving a B+ CinemaScore.

In August 2018, Black Mask was announced as the main villain and will be played by Ewan McGregor. In April 2018, Warner Bros. hired Cathy Yan to direct the feature film with principal photography set to begin on January 15, 2019, and February 7th. Filming took place in Los Angeles under the working title of Fox Force Five.

According to IMDB, the casting was done by Rich Delia. Delia was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He attended Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Florida where he received a BFA degree. Returning to New York City after college, he acted in several off-broadway plays. Then by 2011, Delia started working as a casting director. Some of his biggest casting production titles including Dallas Buyers Club, The Disaster Artist, IT, Tag, and The Nun.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie had many challenges. Reshoots were ordered after the studios saw the first cut. ‘John Wick’ director Chad Stahelski was hired to work alongside Yan to add more action to the movie.

Warner Bros. has struggled to find a hit movie. The biggest exception is ‘Joker’, which is a hit at the 92nd Academy Awards.

Meanwhile, Sony hit ‘Bad Boys For Life’ fell to No. 2 in its fourth weekend with $12 million for a domestic cumulative total of $166.3 million and an extraordinary $336.3 million globally after clearing in another $48 million overseas.

Joaquin Phoenix continued his campaign of acceptance speeches of simply acknowledging his fellow nominees before discussing injustices, ranging from climate change to racial discrimination.

“I do not feel elevated above any of my fellow nominees,” he began his speech. “We share the same love, the love of film, and this form of expression has given me the most extraordinary life.”

Phoenix added that during hsi Oscar campaign, he has been thankful for the opportunity to use his voice “for the voiceless.” He added that whether he or other nominees, are discussing gender inequality, racism, queer rights, indigenous rights or animal rights, “we’re talking about the fight against injustice.”

The actor then turned his speech toward animal rights, noting how “we go into the natural world, we plunder its resources.”

About ‘The Card Counter’:

During an interview with Metrograph, Paul Schrader opened up a bit about his new film The Card Counter:

“But now, in another week, I’m gonna go back to work. I’ve written a new script and I’m making a new film. We’re cast and we’re financed. It’s an original script, very much in the style I like to do. Nice cast. Oscar Isaac is the main guy. Tye Sheridan and Tiffany Haddish. And Willem [Dafoe’s] in it too. I love Tiffany. I’ve never met her, but I was on the phone with her for an hour. She’s a firecracker. It’s like talking to a live-wire connection. She’s very funny and, of course, she makes you funny. When someone’s sharp, that makes you get sharp because you want to keep up. So that’s all good. In my films, I’ll sort of combine two worlds that seem to have nothing to do with each other. In the new one, it’s the world series of poker and Abu Ghraib.”

The Card Counter “follows William Tell (Isaac), a gambler and former serviceman who sets out to reform a young man seeking revenge on a mutual enemy from their past. Tell just wants to play cards. His spartan existence on the casino trail is shattered when he is approached by Cirk, a vulnerable and angry young man seeking help to execute his plan for revenge on a military colonel. Tell sees a chance at redemption through his relationship with Cirk. Gaining backing from mysterious gambling financier La Linda, Tell takes Cirk with him on the road, going from casino to casino until the unlikely trio set their sights on winning the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. But keeping Cirk on the straight-and-narrow proves impossible, dragging Tell back into the darkness of his past.”
