Kenya Barris is building his own version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A fourth installment of the “Black-ish” could potentially be coming soon.
Variety reports ABC is developing a spinoff of the critically acclaimed comedy called “Old-is.” The new spinoff will center around Earl “Pops” Johnson and Ruby Johnson, who is played by Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis.
The series would follow Ruby and Earl as they attempt to reconnect their love life. When they move into a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of Los Angeles, they will meet people who represent the new and old faces of the community while trying to make it work as an older married couple again.

“Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris will work as the show’s writer and executive producer on the project through his Khalabo Ink Society production company. Fishburne and Helen Sugland will executive producer under their Cinema Gypsy production company with “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson and Artist First’s E. Brian Dobbins. Lewis will work as the show’s executive producer and ABC Signature will be the studio behind the project.
ABC is currently showing the comedy series “Mixed-is”, which centers around the childhood story of Rainbow Johnson, who is played by Traces Ellis Ross. Freeform currently airs the spinoff “Grown-ish,” which centers around Zoey as she goes to college.
It is important to note, Barris departed ABC Studios in 2018 for a deal with Netflix. Since then, he has created a comedy series “#BlackAF” for the network, which was picked up for a second season.
Netflix ordered #blackAF (originally titled Black Excellence) as the first series under Barris’ deal with them. Announcing the production of the show, Netflix said, “Inspired by Barris’ irreverent, highly flawed, unbelievably honest approach to parenting, relationships, race, and culture, Black Excellence looks to pull the curtain back and reboot the ‘family sitcom’ in a way we’ve never seen before.”
BlackAF received mixed reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an approval rating of 41% based on 22 reviews, with an average rating of 6.96/10. The website’s critical consensus states: “Solid one-liners and some sharp social critiques can’t save #blackaf from feeling more like a stale retread than a fresh step forward for creator Kenya Barris.”
After 20 seasons, ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians‘ is coming to an end and will air their final season in early 2021. The family announced their decision on Tuesday.
“It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians,'” the famous family said in a statement. Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Scott Disick signed the statement.
“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spinoff shows, we’ve decided as a family to end this extraordinary journey. We are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years — through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”
The Kardashian-Jenner family thanked E!, production team Bunim/Murray and Ryan Seacrest, who helped launch and executive produce the show from the very beginning.
E! also released a statement saying, “E! has been the home and extended family to the Kardashian-Jenners for what will be 14 years, featuring the lives of this empowering family,” the network’s statement reads. “Along with all of you, we have enjoyed following the intimate moments the family so bravely shared by letting us into their daily lives. While it has been an absolute privilege and we will miss them wholeheartedly, we respect the family’s decision to live their lives without our cameras.”
Keeping Up With the Kardashians was a significant hit for the network, which frequently airs reruns of the series. It was essential to note in 2017, E! signed a deal with the Kardashian-Jenner family for a three-year extension, which would take the show until 2020. The deal was valued at nine figures, and according to Variety, was valued below $100 million.

Today, Kim Kardashian is one of the most popular women in the world, with a vast social media following and movement for criminal justice reform. Kendall and Kylie, who were just kids when the show started, are now two of the most lucrative influencers in the world.
Kim Kardashian-West posted to her 188 million followers, saying, “Without ‘Keeping Up with The Kardashians,’ I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported my family and me these past 14 incredible years,” she wrote. “This show made us who we are, and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”
In relevant news, Kim Kardashian West’s husband, Kanye West, is still running for president. Since announcing his presidential campaign in June, he’s submitted the required documents and launched a rally in South Carolina. Kanye West spoke to attendees at Exquisites Event Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. West said wearing a security vest and wearing a “2020” haircut for the first rally of his campaign.
It did not take long to spark controversy. At one point during the speech, he looked to clarify the work of Harriet Tubman saying, “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people.” Later, West had an emotional moment speaking about his family with Kim Kardashian and addressed his past comments on Planned Parenthood. He broke down into tears revealing about his father’s desire to abort him, and his wife having their first child “even when I didn’t want to.”
“I almost killed my daughter. I love my daughter. … God wants us to create,” said West, who has several children with Kim Kardashian West. “No more Plan B — Plan A,” he said, to the crowd response from the audience.
A crew member was shot by police and others were held at gunpoint while working on Andrea Riseborough movie Geechee.
Production for the movie was quickly shut down this past week after one crew member was shot multiple times and man others were held at gunpoint by police in the Dominican Republic. The incident is currently under investigation but, according to reports, it is a case of mistaken identity. The crew member who was shot has been released from the hospital, but most of the people involved have reportedly left the island.
Deadline reports members of the production crew were looking at locations near Lantica Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios on Wednesday night. There is currently a curfew in the country to fight COVID-19. Members of the island’s drug enforcement police supposedly saw the crew. At some point, police allegedly fired weapons at the crew’s cars. There was some kind of car chase back to the studios, which ended with several crew members being held at gunpoint.
The situation eventually died down and one crew member was taken to the hospital and later released. The producer AGC Studios shut down production. Film Finances has also been called in to investigate the situation. Currently, there are no plans on when to resume filming or if producers will continue filming in the Dominican Republic.
Geechee was scheduled to film in March, but due to the Coronavirus COVID-19, production was put on hold. The movie stars Andrea Riseborough as a scientist and mother who decides to sell her New York City home to live in the Caribbean. Jamie Foxx is also co-producing the project. Riseborough previously worked on Bloodline, The Grudge, and Tom Cruise’s Oblivion.
Lantica Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios has requested a full investigation from local authorities. It’s unclear how long it may take, and it’s unclear if actors and crew members will be comfortable to return to the Dominican Republic to resume filming. Production could change filming locations, or find a filming location in the United States.

About ‘Nightmare Alley’:
Nightmare Alley is an upcoming American psychological thriller film directed by Guillermo del Toro with a screenplay by del Toro and Kim Morgan, based on the novel of the same name by William Lindsay Gresham.
The project was announced in December 2017, when Guillermo del Toro announced he would write and direct the movie.
In April 2019, Leonardo DiCaprio started meetings to star in the film. Filming was supposed to take place in the fall of 2019 in Toronto, and Dan Laustsen was established to work as the cinematographer. In June, Bradley Cooper started early discussions to supplant DiCaprio. In July 2019, production was shifted back to a January 2020 start date. In August 2019, Cate Blanchett was in negotiations to join the film. Both Cooper and Blanchett were confirmed to act in the movie, along with the addition of Rooney Mara. Toni Collette and David Strathairn were added in September, with Strathairn replacing Michael Shannon who dropped out due to “scheduling conflicts.” Willem Dafoe was named in October and Holt McCallany would enter the next month.
Principal photography began on January 21, 2020. On March 13, Disney stopped production on the film due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production will resume on September 16.

Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson shares 7 tips on how to give a good audition, which is great news for aspiring actors.
The advice starts at 10:45 and she breaks down seven amazing tips on how to give a good audition and it’s quite inspiring.
Don’t try to do what you think they want. Embody the character how you think it should be.
Make a choice. Doesn’t matter whether it’s perfect, or not; make an impression. It could lead to future jobs even if you don’t get that one.
If you make a mistake, just be smooth. Not being rattled can be more important than saying the line right. Mistakes are going to happen.
Ask for what you need. If you think you can do it better by going again, but they’ve already said, “good job,” just ask if you can do it again.
You’re going to have bad auditions. It’s a learning experience. Get the reps in.
The audition starts the second you enter the room. Sometimes you ought to embody the character from even that point.
Use it as an opportunity to get to know them. Maybe you don’t really understand their direction, or it goes against the way you want to go with the character. In a way, you’re also auditioning them.
In the video, Brie Larson also talks about the TV shows and movies she auditioned for. “I didn’t get Gossip Girl, and I’m really glad,” Larson explains in the video. “I auditioned for Hunger Games and I didn’t get it. I auditioned for Tomorrowland and I didn’t get it. I auditioned for all of the new Star Wars movies and I didn’t get it. I don’t even know why I’m saying I didn’t get it. Like, you know I didn’t.”
