The series was first reported in 2019 and was confirmed by Taika Waititi on Twitter. The initial report announced Waititi would be co-writing the series with Native American filmmaker Sterlin Harjo, who would also share executive producer and directing duties with Waititi. After the pilot had been shot in Okmuglee, Oklahoma, FX announced a series order for the project in December 2020. A Native American / Indigenous male stand-in, 5’9″ – 5’11”, is needed full time, for the FX television series RESERVATION DOGS.
Filming is Monday – Friday through May 25, beginning this Monday, May 10.
The person selected must be available to test for COVID-19 today, Friday, May 7 or tomorrow, May 8, before 2:00 pm in either OKC or Tulsa. Compensation for initial COVID testing is $100.
This person will work on set in place of one of the lead actors, assisting the camera and lighting crews as they make their final adjustments between takes.
Filming locations are in Tulsa and Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Where the Crawdads Sing is based on Delia Owen’s debut novel. Amazon sales for the book says it is one of the most read books in the initial weeks of the lockdown in 2020. Now, thanks to Reese Witherspoon, we can expect a movie adaptation of the story of Kaya in the near future. Reese Witherspoon shared her love for the book via her online book club on Instagram. Soon, she revealed that through her production company Hello Sunshine, she signed on to produce the feature film.
What is the plot of Where the Crawdads Sing?
The book is set in the middle of the 1960s and 1970s in North Carolina marshes. It centers around the life of Kya Clark, who is known as “marsh girl.” Abandoned by her own family as ac child, she is left to survive in the swamps. Shunned by residents of nearby Barkley Cover, Kya’s only friends are the animals who live in the marsh. She develops relationships with two boys from town, but one’s mysterious death sees her getting caught up in a murder trial.
Oscar-nominated writer Lucy Alibar is writing the screenplay. Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine’s Lauren Levy Neustadter will produce the project, while Oliva Newman, will oversee the rewrite of the movie and will direct the movie.

Daisy Edgar-Jones has been cast Kya. It is not clear at the moment if Witherspoon will star in the film.
John Taylor Smith is cast as Tate. He is known for his work in HBO’s series Sharp Objects starring Amy Adams, and currently starring opposite Chloë Grace Moretz in Shadow in the Clouds, according to Deadline, Taylor Smith will take on the lead role of Tate.

In 2018, Comedy Central announced a production pilot order for the series. The episode was written by Awkwafina and Teresa Hsiao. Executive producers include executive producers were set to include Awkwafina, Karey Dornetto, Peter Principato, and Itay Reiss. Dornetto was also expected to serve as showrunner and Hsiao as a co-executive producer. Production companies involved with the pilot were expected to include Principato-Young Entertainment, later changed to as Artists First.
Comedy Central later announced the series will be given the first season with 10 episodes. Awkwafina, Hsiao, and Dornetto were set to write for the series and Lucia Aniello was expected to direct and executive produce. The series premiered on January 22, 2020. Before the series premiere, on January 14, 2020, it was reported Comedy Central renewed the series for a second season. In August 2020, it was announced the series will appear on HBO Max, with a second season on Comedy Central.
Principal photography for the TV pilot started on July 20, 2018, in Queens, New York City, New York. The last episode of season one was set in Beijing, China but was filmed in Taiwan, without the city government’s permission.
Reviews of the show based on Rotten Tomatoes call the show “Nora From Queens showcases Awkwafina’s charming brashness and surrounds her with an equally delightful cast—especially scene-stealer Lori Tan Chinn—but it could stand to walk a less familiar comedic beat.”

It is an actor’s dream to get featured in a TV show or movie, let alone a speaking role. Luckily, one background actor was upgraded to a speaking role on the new season of HBO’s Righteous Gemstones season 2.

HBO’s ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ is a comedy TV series created by Danny McBride. The show premiered on August 18, 2019, on HBO and follows a famously dysfunctional family of televangelists. The show features McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Adam DeVine, Cassidy Freeman, Tony Cavalero, Tim Baltz, Skyler Gisondo, and Walton Goggins. In September 2019, HBO renewed the series for a second season.
HBO describes the show as follows: “This comedy series tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed and charitable work. McBride will star as main character Jesse Gemstone, who sees himself as a maverick in the ministry game, taking what his father, Eli Gemstone, has built and expanded it for a more modern audience.”

CASTING YOUNG GYMNASTS
RECEIVE $700-$7,500+, IF SELECTED
CASTING YOUNG GYMNASTS IN NEW YORK CITY, AGE 5-10, FOR A BEAUTIFUL OLAY COMMERCIAL
We are seeking girls and boys with a range of gymnastic skills. Whether your child is a beginner or a competitive gymnast, we are open to all options and welcome diversity. No acting experience required, but they should be comfortable in front of a camera.
– This is a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) project, open to non-union performers and those with no acting experience.
– If shortlisted for this project, your child MUST be available on March 26th for a brief video call with the director.
– If selected for this project, you or the legal guardian attending set and your child MUST be willing to be COVID tested on April 2nd and/or April 5th.
– If selected for this project, your child MUST be available for a wardrobe appointment on April 5th.
– If selected for this project, your child MUST be available for filming in New York City on April 7th.
– If selected for this project, your child will receive $700+ for the shoot day and an additional $3,000+ if the footage is used in the final commercial. All rates are SAG scale.
