Sodium Fox Productions is casting a feature film, The Canyons, which was written by Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Less Than Zero) and is being directed by Paul Schrader (director of American Gigolo, Auto-Focus – writer of Raging Bull, Taxi Driver). The Canyons is a contemporary L.A. noir about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20’s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence. Charlie Sheen, the larger than life, tiger DNA enhanced former star of Two And A Half Men who is always “winning”, is going to be President.  Not for real, we hope, but in Robert Rodriguez’s sequel Machete Kills.  In some way of course it makes complete sense for Sheen to be President as his dad Martin was arguably the best ever fictional President as Jed Bartlett in The West Wing.

Casting Sheen is another example of how Rodriguez likes to give outcast actors another chance as he’s already got Mel Gibson starring in the film as an arms dealer that Machete has to track down and kill.  Also on board are Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Tom Savini and Sofia Vergara.  The film is shooting now and is aiming for a release sometime next year.  Source – Robert Rodriguez Twitter

Transformers 4 Hits Development Stage

Transformers 4, the latest instalment in the big robots hitting each other franchise, is still in the early development stage but that hasn’t stopped director Michael Bay throwing some of his ideas into the world to see what sticks.  The first, already known matter, is that the next film will see a new human cast.  That means no Shia LaBeouf, no Rosie ‘look at my nice legs’ Hunting-Whitely and presumably no Josh Duhamel.  There is no word on who the new human cast will be but rumours of Jason Statham coming aboard don’t seem to be going away anytime soon.  The other thing Bay has talked about is wanting to take Optimus and co off planet at bit.  He says he doesn’t want to go too sci-fi and keep it grounded in our reality but a journey through space could be on the cards.  Could Bay be taking the Autobots back to Cybertron?  Finally it looks like studio Paramount have slightly cut the budget from the last outing by about $30 Million which means that Bay may have to lose one of his normal 900 explosions and set-pieces.  So what do you think Filmjuicers?  Where would you like to see the Transformers go next?  Back to Cybertron or back in their box? Source – The Los Angeles Times

Sandra Bullock Upcoming Movie

Twentieth Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment are teaming up for a comedy feature film currently being called “Untitled Female Buddy Cop Movie”. Shooting will take place in the Boston, Massachusetts area from July 5 through September 5, 2012. The extras casting director is holding an open casting call for people who are interested in working as paid background performers on the film. At this time, only non-union extras 18 years of age and older are being sought.

The film stars Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock as a high-strung FBI agent, and Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy as an unconventional Boston cop. The two must team up and work together to take down a Russian gangster. Bullock recently wrapped filming on the Warner Bros. Pictures film “Gravity” with George Clooney, while McCarthy only has a five-week window to complete shooting due to her commitment to the Warner Brothers Television comedy sitcom “Mike & Molly”.

 Four-time Primetime Emmy Award nominated filmmaker Paul Feig will direct from a screenplay written by Katie Dippold. Feig directed Melissa McCarthy in the super-successful Academy Award nominated film “Bridesmaids”, and will direct Academy Award winner Colin Firth in The Weinstein Company’s “Untouchable” – a remake of the French smash hit and award-winning film “The Intouchables”. Katie Dippold is also a television producer and actor who is co-producer and series writer on the NBC comedy “Parks and Recreation”.

“CBGB The Movie” Open Casting Call

The indie film company Unclaimed Freight Productions is gearing up to start shooting the true story film “CBGB The Movie” in Savannah, GA and New York beginning on June 25, 2012. The casting director in Savannah is holding an open casting call seeking people interested in working on the film. They are looking for all types with a focus on music lovers, musicians, motorcyclists, 70′S car owners, & people with a 70′s look. Email submissions are also being accepted.

“CBGB The Movie” tells the real-life story of Hilly Kristal who dreamed of having a club on the lower Eastside that catered to Country, Bluegrass and Blues music (thus the name of the club “CBGB”). When he had difficulty booking those genre of bands, he opened his doors to the acts that other venues had rejected. Living on the couch in the back of the club for the first two years, Hilly could barely make ends meet. Nevertheless, he had one demand of the acts he booked – they must agree to perform their own original music. No top 40’s, no covers. The club became known as the starting point for the careers of such punk rock and New Wave acts as The Ramones, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Television, and Blondie.

The film has a great starring cast that includes two “Harry Potter” alumni – Golden Globe winner Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal, and Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome who achieved fame as a guitarist for Rocket From the Tombs and the punk rock band, The Dead Boys. Malin Akerman is playing Debbie Harry of Blondie; Stana Katic portrays Genya Ravan the former lead singer of The Escorts, Goldie & the Gingerbreads, and Ten Wheel Drive.

The job will take place in Atlanta, GA. If you live out of town you will be responsible for all your own travel expences. We request that you don’t live more than a 3 hour drive away.

Antibody podcast casting directors are now casting actors, models, and influencers to work on scenes filming remotely for an upcoming podcast.

Producers are seeking the following role:

  • Seeking: Khalil Hakim. Character portrayed is 14, male, Pakistani-American. Fraternal twin brother to Noor, he disappeared along with his friends… only to come back completely shell-shocked, haunted by things no one has ever seen before.

About Antibody:
