AMC Renews ‘The Walking Dead’ for a Fifth Season

Television’s highest rated show, The Walking Dead will return for another season.

In somewhat not surprising news, AMC has decided to renew The Walking Dead, the TV’s top scripted series will return in 2014 for a fifth season.

After only four episodes into the fourth season, AMC noted the current show runner Scott M. Gimple will return as the series show runner next season.

Gimple, who has been with the series since season one, will be the series third show runner following Frank Darabont and Glen Mazzara.

“We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever: The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season,” AMC president Charlie Collier said Tuesday. “This is a show that has erased traditional distinctions between cable and broadcast. Its expanding base of passionate fans has grown every season, most recently — and most notably — with the season-four premiere earlier this month, which broke viewership records for the series and became the biggest nonsports telecast in cable history. On behalf of the incredible team on both sides of the camera, thank you to the fans and here’s to more Dead.”

This season there will be sixteen episodes with a midseason break after the eighth episode, but there has yet to be an announcement as to how many episodes season five will have.

The Walking Dead is the telvision’s top performer for adults 18 to 49 for over a year and the series continues to break records every season. The recent season four premiere brought in nearly 16.1 million viewers and three days of DVR use made the season premier the biggest nonsports broadcast in cable history with 20.2 million viewers.

Interesting enough, The Walking Dead  brought more viewers than FOX’s World Series in the 18 to 49 demographic. But, it is not too surprising to see the series renewal. AMC’s Breaking Bad  recently wrapped their series finale episode earlier this year and the hit television series, Mad Men is expected to end in 2015. So, it is expected for AMC network to continue to keep the zombie train rolling with another season.

Channing Tatum’s ‘Saints and Sinners’ Strip Club becomes an A&E Reality Series

Channing Tatum is moving towards reality television with a new docu-series on A&E.

The upcoming project will follow the entertainers of the New Orleans burlesque club Saints and Sinners, which Tatum recently opened witha  friend and business partner Keith Kurtz in 2012.

The project is currently in development and pilot stage at A&E, and will be delivered out of Channing Tatum’s production company, 33andOut Products and Original Media.

It is expected that Channing Tatum and Keith Kurtz will executive produce this the project. However, it is not yet certain if Channing Tatum will actually appear on the show.

If the show is picked up it will join the ranks of “Duck Dynasty”, “Storage Wars”, and “American Hoggers” several popular docu-series currently running on A&E.

Tatum must be busy after recently joining a new Comedy series on CBS.

The pair got their start writing for the early entries in the Scary Movie franchise, after which they jumped ship for their own Date Movie. Their next completed project, The Starving Games, will be released later this year (Screen Rant).

Friedberg and Seltzer’s productions have been consistently reviled by critics, never rising above a single-digit percentage on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this, the only one of their films not to turn a tidy profit was Disaster Movie, which still managed to break even. This is largely because of each installment’s meager budget (no more than $30 million, and often quite a bit less) and broad worldwide distribution, all but guaranteeing a return on investment.

The Black Box. Written by Amy Holden Jones, The Black Box centers on Elizabeth Black (Kelly Reilly), a world-renowned neuroscientist who appears to have it all but is constantly haunted by her own struggle with mental illness.

The series will feature Terry Kinney (OZ), Robin Weigert (Deadwood) and Annabelle Stephenson (Revenge) as the trio in the upcoming series featured on ABC.

It was also announced that Breaking Bad’s villainess, Laura Fraser will join the television series as well.

A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world’s original vampires: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt).

It was revealed during the backdoor pilot, aired on April 25, 2013, that recurring werewolf character Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with Klaus’ child.

Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans. Klaus departed from the city after being chased down by his father Mikael, while it was being constructed and Marcel took charge. As Klaus has returned after many years, his ego has provoked him to become the king of the city. “Every King needs an heir” says Klaus, accepting the unborn child. The child is a first to be born to a hybrid (part vampire, part werewolf).

Dance Moms’ Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition will be holding a casting call on Nov. 8 at Center Stage Atlanta.

Season 4 of Dance Moms will premiere on Jan 1.

The star of the show, Abby Lee Miller, is hosting a national casting call in search for the most elite young dancers.

Abby Lee Miller hopes to add new talented dancers to her company.

Registration for the Atlanta event begins at 9 a.m. on Nov. 8. You must register through the Dance Mom website: https://www.dancemomscasting.com/#!registration/ckiy.

Directors said they are looking for male and female dancers under the age of 13 years old.

The audition is also for the parent or guardian because they will also be heavily involved on the show.

You should not apply if you are not interested in being featured on the show.
