ABC Family’s ‘Ravenswood’ Casting Call for Young Adult Extras Available Tomorrow in St. Rose, Louisiana

Casting directors are now casting background extras for ABC Family’s new series ‘Ravenswood’ currently filming in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Ravenswood is an American teen drama mystery-thriller television series created by I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick andJoseph Dougherty. A spin-off of Pretty Little Liars, ABC Family green lit the series on March 26, 2013.

It will premiere in late October 2013, following the Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode.

Set in the fictional town of Ravenswood, Pennsylvania, the series will follow five strangers whose lives become intertwined by a deadly curse that has plagued their town for generations.

‘Captive’ Feature Film Casting Call for Cars 2005 and Older in North Carolina

Casting directors are currently seeking extras to work on the upcoming feature film,  “Captive” currently filming in North Carolina.

David Oyelowo (Jack Reacher) and Kate Mara (House of Cards) are set to star in the thriller, Captive, for director Jerry Jameson (Walker, Texas Ranger).

Written by Brian Bird and Reinhard Denke, and based on Ashley Smith’s book, “An Unlikely Angel”, Captive is based on the true events of an escaped prisoner who takes revenge on the people who put him in jail and takes a young woman hostage.

Oyelowo will play the convict, Brian Nichols, while Mara will play Smith, the woman Nichols takes hostage.  Leonor Varela (Dallas) and Mimi Rogers (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery) round out the cast.  Captive is scheduled to begin principal photography this month.

CAPTIVE is a thriller based on true events that occurred in Atlanta, Ga., on March 11, 2005.

Brian Nichols (Oyelowo) breaks out of the courthouse jail and shoots dead the judge assigned to his case as well as a court reporter, sheriff’s deputy, and FBI officer.

While eluding a statewide manhunt, Nichols takes Ashley Smith (Mara), a single mother struggling with meth addiction, hostage in her own apartment.

Over the course of her harrowing ordeal, Smith desperately uses a book she has been given, Rick Warren’s THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE, to reason with her captor — with surprising and unforeseen results.

“Breaking Bad” and “Dexter” both came as an end last month. The SAG Foundation provided an unusual angle from which to look back at the series — by way of their casting directors.

Sharon Bialy and Sherry Thomas shared their perspectives and viewpoints as how they were able to choose the cast for “Breaking Bad and “Dexter.”

Sharon Bialy and Sherry Thomas of “Breaking Bad” and Shawn Dawson of “Dexter” appeared in conversation with moderator Michael Bofshever (who played Jesse Pinkman’s dad) to talk about the casting process for both shows. Among the interesting topics touched on are the differences between working on a series from the pilot versus joining it in process, the need to accurately reflect the makeup of the populations of Albuquerque and Miami in the cast and guest stars and the search for an actor with cerebral palsy to play Walt Jr.They also talk about how casting works in general, and offer advice to actors on auditioning for casting directors (indiewire).

Lifetime Renews “Drop Dead Diva” for a Sixth Season

Lifetime has decided to renew  “Drop Dead Diva” for season six.

Lifetime networks announced the season 6 renewal yesterday.

The part comedy and drama, from Sony Pictures TV, centers on a shallow model who dies suddenly in an accident and is reborn in the body of a brilliant plus-sized attorney.

Lifetime has ordered 13 new episodes of the series and will roll out the sixth season next year.

Renewal follows Lifetime reviving “Drop Dead Diva” earlier this year after the network announced it had cancelled the series following its fourth run.

Due to overwhelming pressure from fans, Lifetime and Sony TV were able to work out a cost-effective deal to keep the series on the net’s lineup, and ordered a fifth season for the show in the spring.

“Drop Dead Diva” is exec produced by Josh Berman, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Robert J. Wilson. It airs at 9 p.m.  Sundays on Lifetime.

Theaters do not have to Care about NC-17 Ratings

The number of underage teenagers who were able to purchase movie tickets for rated R movies is at an all time low.

A new statistic released by the Federal Trade Commission revealed that only 24 percent of underage teenagers were able to purchase tickets to view rated R movies.

Theaters throughout New York City do not have to worry about preventing teenagers from purchasing tickets for the film titled, ‘Blue is the Warmest Color.’

This film is rated NC-17, which means teenagers under the age of 17 are not permitted to purchase tickets to watch the film.

The IFC Center announced that teenagers are permitted to purchase their own tickets to watch this film, even though the film is rated NC-17.

Many New Yorkers are confused by the IFC Center’s decision.

Hostages center on the family of a doctor is taken hostage by a team led by a rogue FBI agent the night before she is scheduled to perform surgery on the President of the United States. She is ordered by the kidnappers to assassinate the President during surgery in order to save her family.
