A UTA graduate thesis science-fiction short film titled “Flamingo Experiment” is now casting multiple roles for an upcoming production in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Directed by Cane Wilson, this character-driven sci-fi drama explores themes of grief, paranoia, and family conflict following the death of a grandfather and the unraveling belief in an alien conspiracy.

The production is seeking committed actors ready to bring emotional depth and intensity to complex roles in this independent student film.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray a principal or supporting character in a sci-fi short film

• Deliver emotionally grounded and compelling performances

• Collaborate with the director and production team

• Participate in scheduled filming days in the DFW/Midlothian area

Roles Available

Dirk Dallas – Male, late 20s–30s, Caucasian, muscular build

• Physical presence of a wrestler

• Emotionally exhausted, tough exterior

• Carries deep guilt over leaving his younger brother

• Compensation: $50 per day (4 days)

Charles (Father) – Male, 40s–50s, Caucasian

• Paranoid, disheveled, intense personality

• Lives isolated and believes in alien infiltration

• Compensation: $50 per day (1 day)

Sheriff Bridges – Any gender, 35+, any race

• Local law enforcement, practical and indifferent

• Brief, grounded role

• Compensation: Unpaid (1 day)

Paul – Male, 20s–30s, any race, muscular frame

• Fellow wrestler with cocky, biting humor

• One-scene role

• Compensation: Unpaid (1 day)

Requirements

• Strong dramatic acting ability

• Ability to portray emotionally intense and character-driven scenes

• Must be able to work in the Dallas–Fort Worth area

Compensation Details
