Job Details: Casting Directors are seeking talented actors globally for an upcoming non-union short film titled “Finding Neelu.” The film will be shot in New Delhi, India, with filming scheduled for late September. This project is independent and unrelated to any struck companies, while the filmmakers wholeheartedly support the SAG and WGA strikes. The selected actor will play the lead role of Neelu, an Indian American individual in their early 20s.
Job Responsibilities: The selected actor will take on the role of Neelu, a sensitive, intelligent, and observant character who identifies as female and non-binary. Neelu is portrayed as a tomboy who is on a journey of self-discovery. As the story unfolds, Neelu is thrust into the whirlwind of her older sister’s wedding preparations in India. Despite her strong-willed, short-haired appearance, Neelu grapples with her identity and place. The actor will bring Neelu’s multidimensional personality to life on screen, effectively conveying her emotions, growth, and personal journey.
Requirements:
- Gender/Age: Indian American, Female and Non-Binary, early 20s.
- Appearance: Short-haired, with a unique and distinct appearance.
- Accent: Must have an American accent.
- Passport: Must have a valid passport.
- Availability: Should be available for travel to India in mid-September for filming.
- Acting Experience: Prior acting experience is preferred, but newcomers with exceptional talent are encouraged to apply.
Compensation:
- This is a paid role.
- Travel, lodging, and per diem expenses will be covered for the shoot duration in New Delhi, India.
