Casting is seeking artists who can bring warmth, nuance, and timeless storytelling to this classic musical.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform prepared audition material showcasing singing and acting range

• Take direction during callbacks and demonstrate character choices quickly

• Rehearse and perform as a principal, supporting role, or ensemble member

• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and strong collaboration with the creative team

Requirements

• Strong musical theatre skills (singing and acting required; movement/dance encouraged)

• Roles available include principal and featured parts such as:

  • Maria Rainer (soprano; strong movement)

  • Captain Georg von Trapp (baritone; strong movement)

  • Max Detweiler (tenor/baritone; strong movement)

  • Elsa Schraeder (mezzo-soprano; strong movement)

  • Liesl von Trapp (soprano; strong dancer)

  • Rolf Gruber (low tenor; strong dancer)

  • Frau Schmidt (spoken/non-singing role)

  • Featured nuns and additional supporting roles

  • Ensemble singers (all genders) with strong acting and movement/dance ability

• Must be comfortable performing in an ensemble setting and transitioning tone as required by the story
