Title: Staff SDET
Location: Remote
Reports to: Engineering Manager
What are we looking for?
A Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to develop and expand an automation platform that supports a complex array of user-facing products in the shopping, ecommerce, and creator marketing industry, which spans native iOS apps, frontend websites, and backend services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build maintainable automation platforms, tools, reporting, and related infrastructure for use throughout this global organization
- Leverage concurrent testing strategies to deliver valuable insights as quickly as possible
- Perform automated testing of new releases for customer facing applications.
- Prioritize build pipeline health and maximize uptime for critical systems
- Advocate for development and quality best practices, code quality, and testing tools throughout the organization
- Review functional and technical documentation in order to identify requirements for the creation of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Execute all components of product testing such as functional, regression, end-to-end testing, performance, and load testing.
- Conduct peer design/code reviews
Minimum Requirements
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Python, Go.
- Being able to prioritize teams testing efforts (manual, automation, security, performance)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Elk, Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana.
- 10+ years of experience developing enterprise test automation frameworks/harnesses (Appium, Cypress, Selenium, Pytest, etc).
- Experience creating test automation for native iOS apps, backend services (primarily REST APIs), and frontend web applications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in rapid, continuous product releases (every 2-4 weeks) highly preferred.
- Experience in creating automation test cases, test plans, and test scripts
- Fluent in a containerization solution like Docker, rkt, Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines like Github Actions, CircleCI, TravisCI, Jenkins
- Cloud solutions like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
- Strong engineering background, with a focus on patterns over tools
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- Experience with ETL/data ingestion pipelines
- Proficiency in testing serverless based architecture; experience in testing against AWS or other public cloud stack
- Experience in behavior driven development and test-driven development scenarios and frameworks such as Cucumber, Jbehave/JGiven, etc. is a plus
- Experience in setting up and configuring logging tools and frameworks.
- Experience configuring CI/CD build pipelines. Understanding deployment strategies and differences between blue-green, canary and other deployment strategies.
