“Swindled,” a new docuseries for a major cable network, is seeking real people ages 16–60 who paid for something that did not match what they were promised. This paid opportunity is open to residents of New York City and surrounding areas within approximately one to two hours’ driving distance.
Stories may involve defective cars, misrepresented collectibles, counterfeit designer bags, or other disappointing purchases involving deception. If selected, the production team will come to you to document your experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Share your firsthand story about being scammed during a purchase.
• Participate in filming with the production team.
• Discuss the item you purchased and how it differed from what was promised.

Requirements

• Be ages 16–60.
• Live in New York City or within approximately one to two hours’ driving distance.
• Have a real personal experience involving a purchase scam or misrepresented item.
• Be comfortable sharing your story on camera.
• Submit your story, one photo of yourself, and one photo of the item involved.

Compensation

• Paid participation.
• Selected participants will be compensated for their time and use of their story.
• The production team will travel to selected participants.

No acting or on-camera experience is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in a documentary focused on everyday life in New York City.
• Allow the production to capture a typical working day and daily routine.

• Participate naturally on camera without needing to perform or act.
• Collaborate with the documentary crew throughout the filming day.
