Job Description
A Hulu documentary drama series is casting skilled metal musicians for several featured and supporting roles in an upcoming episode. This non-union project, set in the heavy metal scene, is looking for talent who can authentically play instruments and perform with energy and intensity. Roles include guitarists, bassists, drummers, vocalists, and keyboard players. The production will shoot in Toronto, and talent must reside locally, pay Ontario taxes, and be available for filming in June.

Job Responsibilities

  • Portray real or inspired characters in a dramatized documentary setting

  • Play your respective instrument on camera with technical accuracy

  • Perform in scenes that recreate the spirit and aesthetic of 1980s and 1990s metal culture

  • Follow direction for both acting and musical performance with consistency

Requirements

  • Must be non-union and a resident of the Greater Toronto Area

  • Roles include:

    • Bassists: White male, 20s–30s or 35 years old, long dark or curly hair

    • Guitarists: White male, 20s–30s, long blonde hair

    • Drummers: White male, 20s–30s, dirty blonde long hair; must be highly skilled

    • Vocalists/Keyboardists: White female, teens to 20s, long black hair, 5’5”; must be able to sing and ideally play keyboard

Compensation

  • Lead: $350/day

  • SSE (Special Skills Extra): $275/day

  • Supporting: $250/day

  • Secondary: $225/day

  • SSE Background: $250/day

  • Background Performer: $200/day
