Job Detail: Join our upcoming play “COPING MECHANISM” at the wild project this fall! We’re seeking talented Equity/Non Equity African American actors to bring this emotionally charged production to life. The play explores the intricate journeys of characters navigating grief, loss, friendship, and change.
Job Responsibilities: As a cast member of “COPING MECHANISM,” you’ll be responsible for embodying your character, delivering authentic performances, and collaborating with the creative team to bring depth and nuance to the narrative. Your dedication to rehearsal, character development, and the production’s overall success is crucial.
Requirements:
- DEBRA: African-American female, aged 27-35. Portrays a mother grappling with the loss of her only child.
- NATHAN: African-American male, aged 18-22 (portraying 16). Must be able to play the saxophone at a beginner level.
- LINDSIE: African-American female, aged 27-35. Portrays the best friend navigating her own emotions while supporting her grieving friend.
- JAMES: African-American male, aged 27-35. Plays the absent father confronting his past choices and the possibility of change.
Actors must have strong acting abilities and a commitment to the rehearsal and performance schedule.
Callbacks: Scheduled on August 17th, 18th (10am-3:30pm), and Sunday, August 20th (10am-5pm) by appointment only. Selected actors will receive sides from the play to prepare.
