Casting Call: Metal Musicians and Performers for Docudrama Series in Toronto

Job Description
A new docudrama series exploring the history of metal music is casting talent for upcoming episodes filming in Toronto. This immersive project seeks passionate metal musicians and performers who can embody the raw energy and look of the metal scene from various decades. All roles are silent on camera (SOC) and may include costuming that reflects the bold, expressive style of the metal era. Non-union talent only.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform on camera in character-specific scenes

  • Play instruments or convincingly portray live performances

  • Embrace authentic metal styling, including wardrobe and hair changes

  • Take direction well and maintain a professional attitude on set

Requirements

  • Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area and pay taxes in Ontario

  • Non-union only

  • Must be available for the scheduled filming dates

  • Comfortable with costuming including low-cut tops, tight pants, and shirtless/tank top looks

  • Willing to make facial hair adjustments if needed

  • All roles are non-speaking and may require playing multiple characters

Roles Available:

  • Thrash Metal Guitarist (Lead)

    • Male, Iranian, 18–22

    • Must know how to play thrash metal guitar

    • Filming: May 7, 8, 9

  • 80s Metal Guitar Prodigy (Lead)

    • Male, White, 20s

    • Long blonde hair, strong guitar skills with an 80s metal band vibe

  • 80s Metal Vocalist (Lead)

    • Male, White, late 20s to mid-30s

    • Long dirty blonde hair or willing to dye, authentic frontman energy

    • Bonus if you can authentically sing metal

    • Filming: May 12, 13, 14

  • Tommy Aldridge (Background)

    • Male, White, early 30s

    • Tall with brunette curly or tightly curled hair, sharp facial features

    • Some drumming ability preferred

    • Filming: May 12, 13, 14

Compensation

  • Lead Roles: $350/day

  • Background Roles: $200/day

Organist and Xylophone Player

Job Description
A production is seeking experienced musicians to fill the roles of an organist and a xylophone player for an upcoming shoot. Organist and Xylophone Player for Film/TV Scene

Job Description
Urgent musician casting for a featured scene in a scripted production. Seeking an organist and a xylophone player with on-camera presence. Expect a morning wardrobe fitting followed by an afternoon shoot. This is a long day; punctuality and professionalism are essential. New faces only (no prior appearances on this project). Talent may be considered for an upcoming second block of filming.

A Canada-wide production is seeking real tabla players and real cellists for an on-camera project. We’re looking for authentic musicians who can perform confidently for commercial, film, TV, or digital content. Talent should bring strong technique, stage presence, and the ability to take direction while delivering expressive performances.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform live or to playback on camera with professional accuracy

  • Collaborate with the director, music team, and crew to achieve creative goals

  • Repeat sections consistently for coverage and continuity

  • Arrive prepared with your instrument and relevant accessories

Requirements

  • Canada-based musicians; able to work as a local to the shoot location

  • Tabla: South Asian male, 25–45, experienced and active performer

  • Cello: Proficient cellist, any gender, strong tone and musicality

  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable on set and in close-up performance

  • Availability for virtual callbacks and the scheduled shoot window
