Casting is now open for the lead role of Maya in the upcoming UBCP/ACTRA ULB comedy short DEADBEATS, filming in Vancouver. Maya is a sharp, dry-witted DJ holding her life together while everything around her spirals into chaos. This proof-of-concept short will pitch a fully developed feature film and will be used for studio meetings with script and pitch deck in hand. Ideal talent will bring a mix of grounded humor and subtle vulnerability, with strong comedic instincts and natural charm.
Job Responsibilities

Portray Maya, the lead character in a narrative-driven comedy short

Deliver dry humor with nuance and strong comedic timing

Perform in multiple scenes across a three-day shoot
