An independent short film is casting three roles for a drama with dark humor. The story follows a Greek-Australian man dealing with grief after his brother’s funeral, spiraling into a night of emotional reckoning. This is a festival-focused short film and a strong opportunity for actors who enjoy grounded, character-driven work with edge.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform scripted scenes for an independent short film.

• Bring emotional nuance and natural chemistry to relationship-driven scenes.

• Take direction well and work collaboratively with a small film team.

• Be available for one shoot date within the scheduled filming window.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in Sydney (Inner West).

• Casting the following roles:

  • Ninah (30+): Any ethnicity. Compassionate, curious, intuitive; shares history with Johnny and reconnects as he faces grief.

  • Mark (30): Greek-Australian. Chaotic, charismatic, allergic to responsibility; barrels through life on bravado, bad decisions, and emotional avoidance.

  • Helen (60+): Greek-Australian. Loving and traditional; grieving mother who clings to Johnny and unintentionally places emotional weight on him.

• One shoot date required for each role (exact date provided upon selection).

Compensation
