Job Description
Proofread and review all documents for accurate use of grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and correct content placement, while strictly maintaining tenets of the brand voice according to client’s style guide. Will note corrections and revisions and organize follow-up procedures to ensure that changes, edits, and comments have been addressed. The proofreader will be working independently on multiple projects simultaneously and must be always able to confidently practice effective communication with team members and managers.
- Must have excellent time management skills to be accurate and confident while working in a fast-paced studio production environment.
- Proofreader will be main point of contact/liaison between studio staff and account/client team.
- Must be comfortable working independently and primarily for a single agency client.
- Oversee and maintain style guides and update supporting documents as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of proofreading or copy-editing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, advertising, English, or related studies.
- A command of all relative publishing styles (Chicago, AP); an excellent grasp of English grammar, syntax, and punctuation; sharp editing skills; and fluency in proofreading markup language and procedures.
- Must be familiar with project types and channels, including print circulars, coupons, digital banners, website, email, B2B & B2C, social media, direct marketing, video scripts, packaging, and onsite and OOH signage.
- Preferred skills: Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, Google Docs
