Job Description
An HBO documentary recreation is casting for the role of John, a rebellious high school sophomore who brings a sharp edge and emotional complexity to this non-speaking, character-driven performance. This role requires a bold, expressive actor who can convey inner conflict, physical discomfort, and protective instincts without dialogue. Filming will take place in cold, simulated environments and features emotionally grounded storytelling based on real-life events.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray John, a punk-inspired, opinionated teen navigating moments of discomfort and emotional tension

• Express internal conflict, protectiveness, disgust, and illness through body language and facial expression

• Participate in emotionally charged scenes in cold, physically active settings

• Collaborate with production to ensure a raw, truthful, and compelling performance

Requirements

• Male, age 18+ (must appear 16), with curly hair to shoulder length (or willing to wear a wig)

• Strong non-verbal acting skills required

• Must not be claustrophobic

• Comfortable working in cold weather conditions

• Must be capable of handling emotionally sensitive material with authenticity

Compensation

• $600/day + 20% agency fee

• Wardrobe stipend available if personal clothing is used

• Haircut or wig styling stipend included if required by production
