A paid short documentary is seeking real people in the Charlotte area to share authentic stories about their lives, work, education, and plans for the future. The project will explore the choices people are making about their next steps, particularly while navigating challenging economic circumstances. This is not an acting opportunity and there are no scripts. Casting is focused on genuine experiences and perspectives from high school students, recent graduates, people building their careers, and individuals considering or currently making a career change.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in a short documentary as yourself.
- Share your real experiences, goals, challenges, and plans for the future.
- Discuss topics related to education, employment, career development, or career changes.
- Speak naturally and honestly on camera without a scripted performance.
Requirements
- Must be based in the Charlotte area.
- Seeking real people rather than actors.
- High school students and recent graduates are encouraged to submit.
- Career builders and career changers are encouraged to submit.
- Must be comfortable sharing personal perspectives and future goals on camera.
Compensation
- $500 for participants selected for the final shoot.

Black Love Matters is seeking Black couples of all ages for an upcoming short documentary film series celebrating love, relationships, and meaningful connections. This documentary casting opportunity invites real couples to share their authentic love stories, including the joys, challenges, sacrifices, forgiveness, and personal growth that shape their relationships. Selected couples will be featured in “Black Love Matters: A Valentine’s Day Exhibit,” a creative project dedicated to documenting and preserving stories of Black love, intimacy, and partnership.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate as a real couple in the “Black Love Matters” short documentary film series.
- Share authentic experiences and personal stories about love, relationships, and partnership.
- Engage in honest conversations about relationship milestones, challenges, growth, and meaningful moments.
- Discuss personal experiences involving communication, forgiveness, intimacy, and commitment.
- Participate in documentary filming and interviews with the creative production team.
