The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for an innovative and experienced Communications Director for a non-partisan non-profit based in North Bethesda. The Director will collaborate closely with the President to develop and implement the non-profit’s brand, communication and marketing strategy, and drive strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will have experience managing and building a team, overseeing communications platforms, and have demonstrated communications experience on the Hill, think tanks, or in other public policy organizations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a communications professional with demonstrated leadership experience to take on a pivotal role in a high-impact organization. This role is onsite 5 days/week.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement the brand, positioning, and PR
- Develop marketing strategy to reach target audiences and for revenue-generating products
- Oversee the development and creation of a wide range of communications materials including press releases, social media posts, newsletters, video, podcasts, and other updates
- Analyze and report metrics related to distribution, engagement, and lead generation
- Translate and summarize scholarly publications into digestible content for various platforms
- Build and maintain relationships with media, influencers, Hill staffers, and policymakers
- Develop and oversee a marketing and communications team
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to help with their marketing and communications needs
- Collaborate with leadership team to identify and develop partnerships with other organizations
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of communications or marketing experience
- Experience from the Hill, think tanks, or within public policy
- Experience building and managing teams
- Established network within the policy community, congress, and media organizations
- Superb communication and writing skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Technical skills:
- Strong understanding of CRMs
- Marketing and communications platforms
