Associate Producer – This Week (ABC News) – Temp
This Week with George Stephanopoulos, ABC’s Sunday public affairs broadcast, is seeking a temporary Associate Producer. This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of show production and will be a key member of the editorial and production staff.
This position is based in Washington, DC working Wednesday – Sunday with occasional late evenings and regular early Sunday morning hours.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the editorial vision of the show by suggesting headliners, roundtable guests and pitch segment ideas
- Support the research team with background information for interviews
- Identify and assemble video elements
- Book characters for tape packages
- Coordinate guest travel
- Handle TW’s social media platforms, posting guest announcements ahead of the show and interview highlights on Sundays
- Manage the production and editing of breaking news packages in a fast paced news environment
- Write digital stories
- Work closely with anchors and DC bureau staff
Qualifications
- Previous newsroom and control room experience
- Solid editorial judgement with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Deep interest in politics and knowledge of Washington leaders
- Strong research, writing and organizational skills
- Mastered digital media management
- A flexible schedule to meet the needs of a weekend broadcast
- Experience performing under pressure and motivated to handle any task
- Experience shooting and editing is a plus
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
