Job Description
“Room to Become” is a paid, non-union branded short film for a national student housing company filming in the Denver metro area. The 60-second commercial follows a college student through everyday apartment life with roommates, showing how the space gradually becomes a home and the student grows into a more confident version of themselves. The production is seeking naturalistic performers with subtle, believable acting styles.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform an assigned role in a 60-second branded short film with additional cutdowns.
- Deliver natural, grounded, and observational performances.
- Perform dialogue, reactions, physical comedy, or improvisation depending on the role.
- Follow acting, blocking, and creative direction throughout production.
- Collaborate professionally with the cast and production team.
Requirements
- The Student: Playing age 18–24, any gender or ethnicity; grounded, warm, and capable of showing a character growing from guarded newcomer to confident young adult.
- The Roommate: Playing age 18–24, any gender or ethnicity; relaxed, friendly, and comfortable with light dialogue.
- Friends: Playing age 18–24; part of the student’s growing social circle. Physical comedy or improvisation skills are a plus.
- Performers must be 18 or older.
- Local Denver metro area talent only.
- No travel or lodging provided.
Compensation
- The Student: $350 flat rate.
- The Roommate: $250 flat rate.
- Friends: $200 each.
- Rates include the shoot day and usage buyout in perpetuity across all media, including paid, social, web, and connected TV.
- Meals provided on set.
