Job Description

Two Acres Films is casting two lead roles for the upcoming short film Silas. The story centers on Silas, a 28-year-old transgender man who is quiet, reserved, and beginning to embrace his identity, and Agnes, his overbearing and unaccepting single mother. The production is seeking performers who can bring emotional depth and authenticity to a complicated mother-son relationship centered on acceptance, independence, and family.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray either Silas or Agnes in a lead role.
• Perform emotionally driven and dramatic scripted scenes.
• Bring authenticity and depth to the characters’ complex relationship.
• Take direction and collaborate with the director and production team.

Requirements

• Silas: Transgender man, playing age 28; quiet and reserved character.
• Agnes: Cisgender woman, playing age 40s–60s; overbearing, controlling, loving, and unaccepting mother.
• Prepare a 1–2 minute dramatic monologue.
• Memorization is preferred.
• Virtual auditions may be available for performers unable to attend in person.
