Actor to Portray Military Service Member in Mental Health Project
Job Description
A nonunion production for a mental health training series is casting an actor to portray a military service member recently discharged or currently serving. This role is for a meaningful educational series focused on the Crisis Response Plan technique, used to help prevent suicide among veterans and service members. The performance will involve a realistic, emotionally driven conversation with a therapist (posing as a friend), requiring naturalistic acting and light improv. Actors with personal military experience or deep familiarity with military life are especially encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities

Portray a veteran or active service member experiencing emotional distress

Participate in an improvised, conversational roleplay alongside a therapist character

Draw from personal experience or provided backstory to support authentic performance

Collaborate remotely in a Zoom audition to demonstrate realism and emotional depth
Requirements

Male or female, any ethnicity, age 20–30

Must portray a military member or veteran authentically

Familiarity with military terminology and lifestyle required

Comfortable with unscripted performance and emotional storytelling

Military experience is a strong bonus

Locals to Columbus, OH preferred (mileage may be covered for the right fit)
