Job Responsibilities

• Perform a principal or supporting character in the one-act musical.
• Learn and perform scripted dialogue, music, and stage direction.
• Bring emotional authenticity and strong vocal ability to the production.
• Collaborate with the director, cast, and creative team during rehearsals and performances.
• Participate in required rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances.
• Maintain professionalism throughout the production process.

Requirements

• Non-union actors who are strong singers.
• George: Male, ages 40–60s, Caucasian; an optimistic father struggling to provide stability for his family; baritone.
• Granny: Female, ages 60–80s, Caucasian; a woman severely affected by dementia who experiences moments of clarity; mezzo-soprano.
• Shannon: Female, ages 40–60s, Caucasian; Eden’s Irish mother, portrayed as warm, perceptive, and supportive; Irish dialect required.
• Professor Frisk: Any gender and ethnicity, ages 30–70s; a serious astronomy professor with a direct, no-nonsense personality.
• Strong acting, singing, and character-development abilities.
• Must be able to perform in New York City.
• Must be able to commit to the required rehearsal and performance schedule.

Compensation

• All acting positions are paid.

Mr. Puppy, The Musical is seeking two versatile and reliable non-union performers to serve as standbys for its upcoming NYC showcase. This role is perfect for adaptable actors who can quickly step into a variety of characters and are eager to be part of a vibrant, multicultural family musical. Standbys will be prepared to perform in case of cast absences and may cover multiple tracks throughout the six-week run.

Job Responsibilities

• Learn and be ready to cover one or more principal or featured roles

• Attend all rehearsals and performances as an on-call performer

• Maintain familiarity with blocking, choreography, and vocal material for assigned tracks

• Step into roles confidently with minimal notice, as needed

• Collaborate with the cast, director, and choreographer to ensure performance readiness

Requirements

• One male-identifying and one female-identifying performer

• Open to all ethnicities

• Strong acting, singing, and movement abilities

Compensation

• $300 per week for standby coverage

• $50 performance bump when called to go on
