Mr. Puppy, The Musical is seeking two versatile and reliable non-union performers to serve as standbys for its upcoming NYC showcase. This role is perfect for adaptable actors who can quickly step into a variety of characters and are eager to be part of a vibrant, multicultural family musical. Standbys will be prepared to perform in case of cast absences and may cover multiple tracks throughout the six-week run.

Job Responsibilities

  • Learn and be ready to cover one or more principal or featured roles

  • Attend all rehearsals and performances as an on-call performer

  • Maintain familiarity with blocking, choreography, and vocal material for assigned tracks

  • Step into roles confidently with minimal notice, as needed

  • Collaborate with the cast, director, and choreographer to ensure performance readiness

Requirements

  • One male-identifying and one female-identifying performer

  • Open to all ethnicities

  • Strong acting, singing, and movement abilities

  • Must be non-union and able to work as a local hire in NYC

  • Quick learner with strong adaptability and professionalism

  • Available for the full six-week production schedule

Compensation

  • $300 per week for standby coverage

  • $50 performance bump when called to go on

  • Rehearsals and performances based in Midtown Manhattan
