Position Summary:

As an Art Director, you will set the vision and lead a team executing various creative projects ranging from visual style and design from Gamefam games, to development of marketing assets and pitch materials. You will operate as a creative and sometimes technical leader for a team of artists, programmers, and designers. You will conceptualize and construct prototypes, style guides, pitch decks, and storyboards, lead pitch meetings, and guide your team through all phases of production, while providing constructive feedback to both veteran and junior developers. You may also work with Marketing on both asset and concept development, as well as with external partners and vendors, to make sure that Gamefam’s brand continues to be the benchmark moving forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate creative vision for Gamefam games and lead the team executing all the graphic and visual elements of the game. This includes original IP and licensed games working very closely with IP owners
  • Oversee full production of assets, while providing creative direction and insight at all levels of creative.
  • Lead the team to developing and delivering top-quality creative for all game marketing campaigns – icons, thumbnails, banner ads, social media – collaborating with cross functional team and external brand partners
  • Ability to concept and pitch full creative vision to brand partners and leadership while maintaining continuity across multiple types of executions.
  • Lead by example with a positive influence for all levels of talent both full-time and part-time.
  • Ensure industry leading quality through effective creative direction and feedback.
  • Exercise critical thinking and poise under aggressive timelines, showing confidence in the ability to adapt creatively when the scope of a project needs to shift.
  • Foster and maintain healthy cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Studio Brand Partnerships, and any other internal teams that require support for art asset generation either with us or externally.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Managed production including concepting, pitching and resource management.
  • Experience working with licensed IP and interpreting it for gaming projects. Ability to communicate and provide clear direction to internal teams.
  • Experience in 3D Modeling is preferred, but not required.
  • Passion for gaming with a deep knowledge of Roblox, Minecraft and/or Fortnite
  • Strong creative ideation with a solutions-oriented mentality when under pressure.
  • Passion for the craft with a willingness to contribute at all stages of production.
  • Portfolio demonstrating original, high-quality artwork and Art Direction.
  • 5+ years of experience in the video game industry leading equivalent forms of assets at either internal/external marketing services or creative agencies, including 3+ years in a lead role overseeing teams of creatives.
  • College degree in the requisite field or equivalent experience preferred.

Notes:

  • This is a remote position with working hours generally based around PST. Working hours can be shifted for candidates in other time zones.
  • Roblox is primarily a younger audience (ages 9+). Candidates should be aware of this and keep it in mind when designing features.

The Executive Producer is the visionary, the painter of imagination, the team’s spiritual leader and the sharpest and most critical eye in the room. They must be possessed of incredible passion for doing only the best work, and have the combination of creative and technical skills to make their vision a reality for their colleagues in production, programming, art, and marketing.

Job Responsibilities:

Game Design and Production

  • Develop and guide game concepts from vision statement, mood boards, and game pillars down to finely detailed feature specs, layouts, and game logic-driven flow charts and spreadsheets
  • Produce comprehensive GDD’s for original productions including working with art team on comprehensive style guides across game, UI, and branding needs
  • Socialize GDDs amongst all key stakeholders including programming, art, production, and marketing to create excitement and inspiration around projects
  • Produce detailed features specs including anything and everything needed to make it tangible and implementable for the programming and art teams
  • Own the build notes process and give detailed feedback by whatever method will best communicate the note, including marked-up screenshots, paintovers, footage captures with voice over, etc.
  • Meet with Gamefam’s 3rd party production partners, leading meetings and keeping partners fully engaged and excited about the status of the projects
  • Coordinate with production team to keep meticulous track of design implementation and prioritization during production and live operation of games
  • Coordinate with CTO and lead programmers to ensure game designs are being properly architected to allow for maximum flexibility and scalability of features and content
  • Develop 90-180 day features roadmaps for each game in consultation with marketing and community teams
  • Adjust and iterate on features roadmaps based on data, community feedback, and emerging platform trends

Partner with Marketing / UA

  • Partner with marketing to ideate icon and UA ideas
  • Support deployment of features in coordination with marketing and community teams

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in game design and creative production
  • Experience leading development teams and delivering high quality productions on time and on budget – Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • High detail orientation and comfort using various production tools and templates to manage transparent, detailed production calendars
  • Deep experience working with global brands and building relationships with stakeholders
  • Deep knowledge of game design and features, how mechanics, dynamics, and aesthetics combine to create engaging, enjoyable, and profitable video games
  • Art skills including at least strong hand skills and proficient in Adobe Photoshop
  • Should be highly experienced and comfortable with user experience and interface design and how those functions facilitate great gameplay, retention, and monetization

JOB SUMMARY:

The position of “Producer” at Gamefam involves working closely with teams of Artists, Engineers and Designers, working deeply within Roblox Studio, making sure the teams hit their dates while developing Characters, Pets, Vehicles, Buildings, Clothing, Accessories, User Interfaces and much more. You should have at least one shipped game as a Producer or Project Manager. You should be well-versed in using Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Trello, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. You should thoroughly understand Agile methodologies and driving the course of development in Jira, including planning Sprints, Backlog grooming and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing one or more Development Teams to make Roblox Games
  • Directing the course of Development by creating and managing Jira issues
  • Ensuring that teams hit their deadlines in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that the finished product is compliant and runs well on low-end devices
  • Calling and Leading Meetings, SCRUM Standups and Reviews
  • Composing Reports on ongoing progress for Management
  • Reviewing and Approving External Contractor’s Invoices
  • Collaborating with other Developers and Producers in the Organization

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ Shipped Game — ideally a Roblox Game
  • Experience working as a Producer or Project Manager
  • Must be able to read and write fluently in Mandarin

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 4+ Years of Work Experience as a Producer or Project Manager

SKILLS:

  • Self-starting, self-driven, eager contributor
  • Willingness to mentor more Junior Producers
