Casting Call: Actors for Various Roles in a Nonprofit-Focused Short Film
Job Details: We are casting for a poignant short film produced in association with Carecen & CBS Pipeline Challenge, which tells the story of Jacinto, an undocumented migrant worker who faces numerous challenges while seeking a better life through the aid of a local nonprofit organization. We are looking for talented actors to fill both leading and supporting roles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Portray the character in a truthful and compelling manner.
- Collaborate with the director and other actors to bring the script to life.
- Participate in rehearsals as scheduled.
- Be available for filming on the shoot dates.
Requirements:
- For the role of Jacinto (Lead): Male, mid-20s, gay, brown, indigenous Guatemalan. Must be bilingual in Spanish and English, and know how to ride a bike.
- For the role of Tomas (Support): Male, early/mid-20s, gay, brown, indigenous Guatemalan. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- For the role of Doña Juana (Support): Female, 50s-60s, Latina. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- For the role of Anthony (Support): Male, mid-30s, white, presenting Latino. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- For the role of Carlos (Support): Male, 40s, Latino. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- For the role of Sara (Support): Female, early 30s, Latina. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- For the role of Julio (Support): Male, 30s-40s, open ethnicity. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Additional skills such as the ability to convey emotional depth, experience with physical acting, and improvisational skills are a plus.
Compensation:
- This is a paid position. Rates are competitive and will be disclosed upon application.
