Your Mission
As Manager, Internal Communications reporting to the Sr. Director, Communications, you will supervise internal communications programs across Activision’s business to inform and engage our global employees. In this role, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in everything from producing division-wide meetings to crafting written and video communications within our organization.
This role is anticipated to be assigned as a hybrid work model position, with some work on-site at an Activision Blizzard office and some work remote.
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Develop and complete comprehensive long-range and short-term internal communication plans that outline what channels the team should use to communicate with employees.
- Align our people around our values and business goals to help every employee feel connected to our mission.
- Build and manage an internal editorial calendar to organize the strategic cadence of employee communications.
- Draft accurate and error-free documents with a strong attention to detail.
- Promote pillar awareness of and participation in major Activision projects tied to workplace engagement and satisfaction (Culture, DE&I, Future of Work).
- Work with senior leaders and team leads on internal communications programs, helping them engage with their teams.
- Produce a wide range of compelling content to support employee communications, including talking points, email drafts, decks, slides, video, surveys, hub articles, etc.
- Experiment with creative ways to reach corporate employees with the news and information they care about.
- Be a trusted partner; develop time-sensitive and important messaging for the teams you support, while also evaluating and reporting on sentiment of messages.
- Identify and work on areas of opportunity where communication tools, messaging, frameworks, or channels can be improved for employees globally.
- Cultivate relationships with global cross-functional teams and find opportunities to improve engagement with business operations from an internal communication perspective.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of our games and employee attitudes, surfacing stories that reflect who we are, what we care about, and what we need to know as a team.
Player Profile
- 5+ years of proven experience working within the comms space serving internal or external audiences.
- You have a diverse comms toolkit that you use to master any communication medium requirement.
- You adapt quickly, are a terrific writer, are focused on delivering results, and have experience working well across a diverse group of internal partners.
- You exercise great discretion as it relates to confidential information.
- You can work independently and, in a group, to deliver assignments on time.
- You have a depth of understanding of current trends in the internal comms space.
- You know how to measure the impact and resonance of your work.

- You are creative storyteller with the ability to proactively seek out information from teams, frequently turning complex information into engaging content.

- Strong attention to detail, especially related to written skills across different formats from executive messaging to employee newsletters and internal memos, including copywriting and editing; creative writing is a plus.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
We need help with
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance for engineers on the Metagame and Platform engineering teams, in conjunction with the Technical Director.
- Guide and grow the team of engineering leads into successful people managers.
- Work with the Technical Director to define and execute strategic goals and milestones, establish best practices and procedures, and evangelize the core development values of the engineering team.
- Work with production staff, directors, and other leads to establish engineering tasks and manage schedule requirements.
- Review and approve completed engineering tasks in collaboration with the Technical Director, the production staff, and other leads.
- Collaborate with the Technical Director and leads to ensure that technology interests and policies are properly represented and maintained through the course of development and that future technology is being developed on schedule.
- Perform research to acquire new knowledge necessary to perform assigned tasks and maintain the technological evolution of the project.
- Maintain familiarity with Blizzard Entertainment’s current game designs as well as with emerging technologies across the game industry in multiple genres.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience authoring code for game software.
- 2+ years leading impactful engineering teams.
- Experience shipping multiple AAA games, with at least one as a senior engineer or higher on a large team
- Strong, proven C++ skills and shipped at least one professional game primarily authored in C++.
- Significant leadership experience managing engineers.
- Hands-on expertise in one or more of the following areas: Server development, UDP-based game object replication, DevOps, and Online Services integration.
- Experience with performance analysis and code optimization.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with artists, designers, and other engineers.
- Proven aptitude for technical design.

Your Mission
An experienced Manager of Editorial content, Writer, and Gamer is needed to join the Activision Franchise Editorial team to work primarily on long-form (“Blog”) content for Activision, including Call of Duty. An ideal candidate would have 3-6 years of proven experience writing, editing, and managing editorial content, along with an impressive knowledge of Activision titles. A passionate gamer with experience in first-person action titles and their nomenclature is preferred.
The Editorial Manager would be an integral part of shaping Franchise Editorial content and long-form messaging. The primary role would include managing the research of game content, and redefining it into player-friendly, authentic, and accurate communications that acts as the main hub of information for the brands.
Quality content is of paramount importance, delivered on time and within budget, and distributed across multiple channels. The ideal candidate would be a skilled and articulate communicator, able to craft communications from a small stable of writers, and ensuring content is steered toward publication on-time, and accurately.
This role requires an individual with a strong production management ethic, the ability to bring innovative and creative ideas from inception to reality. The candidate would be passionate and knowledgeable about the gaming industry, Activision’s games, with understanding of communication trends.
Responsibilities
- Working with the Editorial Director to deliver content production goals reflected in the editorial calendar based on all brand communications, applying processes and tools in place, and contributing to improving existing approaches.
- Managing the development and approval of content across blogs, including assets such as screenshots and artwork.
- Work closely with internal partners to shepherd editorial projects from concept through launch achieving the highest quality output.
- Write, edit, proof, fact-check, and polish a variety of franchise-oriented communications with a steadfast focus on quality. Coordinate internally with subject matter experts across teams to gather information to spotlight our games and talent.
- Ensure the Content Management System and Call of Duty Blog content across owned channels is fully SEO optimized, updated, fully curated, and localized globally.
- Managing the central distribution of long-form content across Activision, ensuring global teams receive public-facing communications.
- Bring innovation and assistance in maintaining a communications style guide in concert with the PR, Marketing, and other brand teams. Monitor content effectiveness and help modify strategies accordingly. Additional projects and duties as assigned.
Player Profile
- 3-6 years of client, publication, or agency-side editorial, PR, journalism, or marketing communications experience plus production experience backed by a portfolio of high-quality work.
- A solutions-oriented mentality and a discerning eye for high-quality content.
- An ability to work quickly and effectively across a range of near and long-term priorities.
- Experience using style and grammar references, including Chicago Manual of Style.
- Experience implementing efficient workflow processes and implementing productivity tools, including (but not limited to) the Microsoft Office communications suite, Sharepoint, CMS systems, Jira, Monday, Sprinklr, as well as general knowledge of game builds. Photoshop and knowledge of PC hardware is also a bonus.
- A deep, experienced knowledge of video games, with a particular knowledge of Call of Duty to ensure the maintenance of authentic long-form content. A great K/D ratio and passion for the game is a bonus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build a network of collaborators. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
