Rick & Morty voice actors improvise an entire episode and it’s pretty damn great.
While voice actors do not get as much credit as their on-screen counterparts, it takes a lot of hard work, imagination and genuine acting skills, even if the audience can only hear your voice. But, when you throw improvisation into it, it takes voice acting to a whole new level.
In case you didn’t know, the show centers around Rick Sanchez, after having been missing for nearly 20 years, suddenly arrives at daughter Beth’s doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn’t as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that’s not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer.
Recently, the cast of Adult Swim’s hit TV series, Rick and Morty, sat down and improvised an entire episode of the show. The show starts off with Morty’s knees getting injected with human waste and turns into a college tour featuring Summer and the gang. The video was made for New York Magazine and definitely shows the acting skills, chops and talent the cast of Rick and Morty has to offer.
