Here’s what it is like to work on a Shonda Rhimes production.
ShondaLand Productions, founded by storyteller Shonda Rhimes, is a pioneering storytelling company behind some of the biggest TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder. Over the last ten years, Shondaland’s TV series has earned numerous awards including a Golden Globe, the Peabody Award, GLAAD Media Awards, NAACP Image Awards and eight Emmys.
In a recent interview with the head of comedy and Drama Alison Eakle and head of production Sara Fischer, the two Shondaland filmmakers share their experiences working on the show, how they attempt to break boundaries, and tips for aspiring filmmakers, writers, and actors.
For example, one of the parts of the job they both enjoy is seeing an unknown actor go from being unknown to worldwide recognition. Moreover, if you the cast and crew love your acting enough, then you will gain more opportunities on other Shondaland productions.
