Showtime renews Homeland for Season 6 and The Affair for season 3.
Showtime network is investing in what they know. The premium cable network has just announced that they will renew Homeland for a sixth season, while The Affair will be back for a third season.
This should not be a surprise to anyone following the Showtime Network series. The premium cable company announced that ratings for both shows have been doing respectively well averaging around 2.7 million total viewers for Homeland and 1.05 million viewers for The Affair.
Homeland features Claire Danes and season 5 is set two years after season 4, Carrie is no longer working for the CIA, and is working for a philanthropic foundation in Berlin. The season includes several real world subjects in its storylines; including ISIS, Vladimir Putin, Bashar al-Assad, the Charlie Hebdo shooting, and Edward Snowden.
The Affair centers around a struggling novelist and a young waitress strike up an extramarital relationship that promises to forever change the course of their lives. The Affair features Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, and Maura Tierney.
