NBC Reporter Almost Loses his Life in California Mud

Date:

NBC correspondent Miguel Almaguer had to be rescued after getting stuck in waist-high mud in Azusa, CA last Friday afternoon.

Almaguer was delivering his report on this week’s heavy rain storm on the NBC Nightly News segment with Brian Williams when the thick stream of mud became too much to handle.

Firefighers and emergency crews dug Almaguer out before authorities evacuated the neighborhood.

“We know they’re there and if (the mud is) moving down the street, we can’t get to them,” Jordan said. He described the consistency of the mud as trying to move up a lazy river. “People underestimate the mud flows.”

Almaguer is no stranger to danger He’s also taped several news stories in front of wildfires, according to his Twitter account.
