Sylvester Stallone reveals he never thought hew as going to win a Golden Globe Award for his role on Creed.
Sylvester Stallone shocked and warmed hearts all around the world as the actor, who once lived on the streets of Philadelphia, won a Golden Globe for best supporting actor.
According to reports, Sylvester Stallone is promoting the European release of Creed in London and during a candid interview, Stallone revealed he didn’t expect to win a Golden Globe.
The 69-year-old actor won a Golden Globe for reprising his iconic role as boxer Rocky Balboa in Creed. It was so surprising that he received a standing ovation at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday. It is important to point out that Stallone was nominated in the past for playing Rocky in the 70s but, he never won any of those awards.
“I didn’t expect to win,” Stallone said on the London red carpet.
“I didn’t expect to be there; the last time I was there was maybe 1977, there was maybe 10 tables and it was indoors, it wasn’t televised – it was surreal for me – here is my wife my three kids – and Rocky, he just comes through.”
