Dwayne Johnson’s ‘San Andreas’ Sequel Coming Soon

San Andreas 2‘ is coming soon.

Get ready because Dwayne Johnson and New Line Cinema are creating another disaster movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the company has hired Neil Widener and Gavin James to write a sequel to San Andreas movie, which made $473 million worldwide last year.

Dwayne Johnson is expected to return alongside produce Beau Flynn. In addition, the movie’s original director, Brad Peyton, is expected to to return to San Andreas 2. 

The last San Andreas movie saw Dwayne Johnson as a helicopter pilot who teams up with his wife to save their daughter when a series of earthquakes rock Los Angeles and San Francisco.

While the plot for the next San Andreas movie is top secret, the sequel is expected to include an even larger disaster including the Ring of Fire. The ring circles the Pacific Ocean with fault lines and volcanoes, and accounts for 90% of all earthquakes.
