Here’s the Deleted ‘Batman V. Superman’ Scene That Was ‘Too Dark’ for the Movie

Date:

Director Zack Snyder reveals what scene was too depressing and dark for the Batman v. Superman movie.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was bashed by movie critics and while fans praised the movie, some people still felt that there were major plot holes in the movie. But according to the director, he cut out a crucial scene near the end of the movie which explains major plot hole. Superman was able to use his super ears to hear Lois Lane get in trouble despite being on the other side of the planet. This makes it unreasonable to believe that the Man of Steel would not have been able to hear that the abduction of his mother Marth Kent by Lex Luthor’s thugs.

But to hear Zack Snyder explain it, at the very least you might appreciate the plot hole a little bit more and he made the right decision.

“We had a scene that we cut from the movie where he tries to look for her when he finds out that Lex has got her. It was a slightly dark scene that we cut out because it sort of represented this dark side. Because when he was looking for his mom he heard all the cries of all the potential crimes going on in the city, you know when you look. I kind of like the idea that he’s taught himself not to look because if he looks it’s just never ending, right? You have to know when, as Superman, when to intervene and when not to. Or not when not to, you can’t be everywhere at once, literally you can’t be everywhere at once, so he has to be really selective in a weird way about where he chooses to interfere.”

There’s a three-hour extended version of the movie coming out on Blu-Ray so you may end up getting to see this potentially pivotal scene anyway.
