Marvel’s Black Panther May Be Directed by Creed’s Director

Marvel’s new movie Black Panther will be the first film to feature an African American superhero. This is not the first time that Coogler was considered to direct Marvel’s new movie. Cooler previously met with Marvel’s film makers but no deals were made. However, after the success of Creed, negotiations may just lead to a deal this time.
Creed grossed over $28.5 millions dollars in its debut. The film has had many positive reviews. Creed is a story about a former Heavyweight Champion named Rocky Balboa who becomes mentor and train to Adonis Johnson. Adonis Johnson is the son of Balboa’s late friend as well as former rival, Apollo Creed.
Ryan Coogler gained his notoriety after directing his first feature film, Fruitvale Station; the film premiered during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and won numerous awards. Fruitvale Station was based on a true story about the life of Oscar Grant. Grant was killed in 2009 by a police officer at the Fruitvale Bay Area Rapid Transit station in Oakland, California.
