Could ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Cast Win an Oscar? Disney Thinks So

Disney releases its Oscar “For Your Consideration” list and it includes several major ‘Avengers‘ actors.

The 92nd Academy Awards are set for February 9, 2020. In preparation for the big event, many major production companies have started campaigning for their actors and movies. One of the biggest production companies campaigning this year is Disney. The Mickey Mouse production house is pushing Robert Downey Jr. for an ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Oscar nomination.

Disney also includes many other actors in their “For Your Consideration” list including:

Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, and Don Cheadle. The aforementioned actors will all compete against each other in the “Best Supporting Actor” category.

In the Best Supporting Actress category, Disney put forth Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, and Brie Larson.

Acting is not the only award category Disney is hoping to win an Oscar for, ‘Endgame’ is getting pushed for a Best Picture nomination.

The nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards will be announced on January 13.

What does Robert Downey Jr think about getting nominated for an Oscar?

In an interview with Howard Stern, the actor explained he did not want to deal with an Oscar campaign.  “I’m so glad you brought this up because there was some talk about it and I said ‘let’s not,’” he said after Stern congratulated his acting performance as Tony Stark.
