Georgia-filmed “Avengers: Endgame” brought in $1.2 billion worldwide at the box office, making it the biggest box office opening of all time.
In the United States, the Marvel movie raked in $350 million, breaking the previous record set by “Avengers: Infinity War” with $257 million. Meanwhile, in China, the movie $329 million at the box office, breaking the local box office record that had been set by “Monster Hunt 2”.
The feature film adds the total box office for the 22 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which started over a decade ago with “Iron Man” to a total with $19 billion. Marvel also made the number two spot at the box office with “Captain Marvel,” which made $8.1 million in its eighth weekend.
“Avengers: Endgame” was not only a hit at the box office but fans loved it. The movie currently has a 96% score rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Anthony and Joe Russo directed the fourth “Avengers” film and the final movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Danai Gurira and Robert Downey, Jr.
