‘Taken 3’ Gun Supplier Calls for the Boycott of Liam Neeson Movies

Date:

‘Taken 3’ supplier calls for the gun industry to boycott Liam Neeson films.

Last week, Liam Neeson told reports that the high number of firearms in the United States was a “disgrace”. In addition, Neeson said “Every week now, we’re picking up a newspaper and seeing, ‘Yet another few kids have been killed in schools.’ ”

Well that did not settle so well for the gun supplier of Liam Neeson’s latest movie, ‘Taken 3’, PARA USA.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

“PARA USA regrets its decision to provide firearms for use in the film Taken 3,” reads a message posted on the company’s Facebook page. “While the film itself is entertaining, comments made by its Irish-born star during press junkets reflect a cultural and factual ignorance that undermines support of the Second Amendment and American liberties.”

“We will no longer provide firearms for use in films starring Liam Neeson and ask that our friends and partners in Hollywood refrain from associating our brand and products with his projects,” the statement continued. “Further, we encourage our partners and friends in the firearms industry to do the same.”

It is interesting to hear Neeson criticize the use of guns in the United States when the actor’s career has been filled with action thrillers.

Taken 3 has made $163 million worldwide and the actor most recently revealed that he is interested in working on a sequel and produce a Taken 4 movie.
