The beloved Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman recently shared that his long-running portrayal of the iconic character caused lasting damage to his vocal cords.
In anticipation of his return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, Hugh Jackman recently disclosed that he had sustained long-term damage due to the role. During an interview on BBC’s Front Row, the 54-year-old actor revealed that playing such a powerful character since 2000 had taken its toll on his vocal cords.
For over ten performances, Hugh Jackman’s embodiment of Wolverine’s animalistic traits by grunting and yelling has taken a toll on his vocal cords. “I’ve done some damage to my voice with Wolverine. My falsetto is not as strong as it used to be, and I directly put down to some of the growling and yelling.” In addition to teasingly emphasizing how it has affected his unexpectedly tremendous singing voice, Jackman remarked that he thinks his drama school teacher would be “horrified” upon finding out that he forcibly strained his vocal cords.
To conclude, I’d like to share the meticulous effort he puts into each role before taking it on, “I work with a singing teacher and try not to hurt myself. I put much effort into physical movement and my vocal preparation for every role.”
Adding to the entertainment buzz, it’s been rumored that Tom Holland will be featured in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
