Georgia To Build America’s Largest TV and Film Studio

Date:

Moon River Studios is now the biggest studio project in the United States further increasing Georgia’s film industry.

Georgia is quickly taking over the film industry. With Louisiana capping the film tax credits to only $180 million and reports suggesting that Michigan will end their tax credits. More and more filmmakers are choosing to film in Georgia than anywhere else. Now, Georgia is quickly working on building the nation’s largest movie and television studio project.

According to Ellie Hensley with the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Georgia-based Moon River Studios is now the biggest studio project in the United States.

Moon River Studios, a division of Rincon, Ga.-based FONU2 Inc., is developing a 1,560-acre full service production complex in Effingham County, Ga.

The project includes sound stages, scenic landscapes, an outdoor concert venue, post production offices, editing suites, warehouses, mills and set fabrication services.

FONU2 will rent out the sound stages to other production companies and use the spaces for its own films.

Expect more and more opportunities in the future. Especially with 41 movies and TV shows now filming in Georgia.
