A photographer is calling out possible scam artists preying on aspiring models.
According to a report by WTVM, a Columbus, Georgia photographer, John Pyle is pointing out a possible scam artist that is using Facebook to “lure young ladies with a pitch that he will pay them to do a photo shoot.”
It recently came to his attention that someone using the name Rhonda Howard has been active on Facebook trying to convince young girls to agree to have their picture taken with promises of money.
Usually, money changes hands in the other direction.
But what concerns Pyle the most is that this person is using him as a reference, yet he’s never heard of them before.
According to the report, the alleged scam artists claim that they work at a local photography studio and then promise, them that they are going to be paid after the photoshoot. Â But, models end up paying the photographer for the photos.
We caution anyone to do research before having their picture taken. A real casting company, photographer, or producer will have an official web site with the opportunity to contact them if you have any questions.
