‘Empire’ On Track to Pass ‘The Walking Dead’ Ratings

Date:

Fox’s newest hit musical drama series, Empire continues to break records week after week.

It is officially the only TV series since 1992 to have its rating continue to rise for its first seven episodes. The last show to be as successful as Empire was Roseanne. Now, Empire is on track to beat AMC’s The Walking Dead, ratings.

According to Variety, last night Empire averaged a 5.7 rating in the key demographic of 18-49 year-olds or simply, 14.2 million viewers. Since the show’s premiere, ratings have increased by nearly a million viewers every episode.

Currently, Empire is still in competition with another show to be number one in its demographic audience. The Walking Dead remains the number one drama series in the 18 to 49 demographic. The zombie series dominates Sunday nights with a 6.2 ratings. However, with two more episodes left for Empire, expect ratings to surge in the next few weeks.

You can continue helping both series shatter record ratings by tuning in to Empire on Wednesdays at 8/9c on FOX, and watch The Walking Dead at 9/8c on AMC.
