The Walking Dead actor, Jon Bernthal says Kevin Spacey was a “bit of a bully” when they worked together for the Georgia-filmed movie Baby Driver.
According to Daily Mail, Bernthal says he was looking forward to working with Spacey, as he was a big fan. But when he got on set, he was “extremely disappointed” with the star’s behavior.
‘Going on to that (Baby Driver) set and working with him, I wasn’t there much, but when I was there, he really rubbed me the wrong way,’ Bernthal said during an interview with SiriusXM’s ‘Jim Norton & Sam Roberts.
‘I thought he was a bit of a bully. I didn’t really care for the way he was behaving toward some of the other people on set,’ he added.
Bernthal did not elaborate on Spacey’s actions, but he said most of the inappropriate behavior was directed towards men on set.
He said: ‘I think he was acting toward people in a way that I remember at the time thinking, “Man, if that was a woman that he was talking to, I would’ve done something, I would’ve said something”.
‘I was really happy to sort of get out of there for that reason, and I just remember losing a ton of respect for him.
‘Nowhere did I see anything like some of the allegations that have come up against him.
‘But I think it would be weak of me to sort of pile on about some s*** that I don’t know about, but the kind of man he was when I saw him, working with him, made me lose all respect for him and I was enormously disappointed.’
Bernthal played a bank robber named Griff in the critically acclaimed Baby Driver, while Spacey played kingpin Doc. The sexual misconduct allegations against two-time Oscar winner Spacey have resulted in the cancellation of his Netflix show, House of Cards.
Last month, he apologized to actor Anthony Rapp, who accused him of trying to seduce him in the late 1980s when Rapp was 14 years old.
