Another major movie studio is headed to Georgia.
A $58 million film studio is currently in development for Fayette County, Georgia. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Cinema South Studios is a multi-million dollar project that is expected to create 5,000 jobs in Georgia over the next five years.
The team behind the new movie studio includes Alvin Williams, a movie producer, Jim Viviano of 5G Studio Collaborative, the architect behind the project, and Todd Brooks, president of Brooks Real Estate Development Inc.
Plans to break ground are set for this December with a tentative completion date of December 2019.
In stead of competing with Pinewood Atlanta Studios, which has been filled with hit movies including Marvel’s Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Cinema South Studios’ plans to help Pinewood. Apparently, the studio has been so full at certain points that its productions had to look elsewhere to film their projects.
