Jussie Smollett’s ‘Empire’ Role “SLASHED” (Report)

Date:

Jussie Smollett’s screen time on “Empire” is getting slashed.

According to TMZ, Jussie Smollett’s screen time on “Empire” is getting cut following the report he staged the attack.

Sources close to TMZ say Jussie was supposed to have nine scenes and a big music scene in the second to the last episode, which they are now filming, but 5 of his scenes have been cut including his musical number.

As for the four remaining scenes, TMZ reports he is no longer the focus. The scene will feature several other cast members.

TMZ also reports Jussie Smollett will be spending less time on set. Ins read of working every day this week, he will appear on set this Friday and possibly Thursday, and he will not be rehearsing.

Less work for Jussie means more work for writers, who are busy making edits. In the past 24 hours, we’re told the script has undergone multiple revisions,” TMZ explains.

This news comes after Jussie’s case is heading to a Grand Jury. TMZ reports the focus is presenting evidence that could lead to a felony indictment against Jussie for allegedly filing a false police report.
