Ever since Ant-Man, nearly every major Marvel Studios movie has filmed in Pinewood Atlanta Studios. In fact, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War have all filmed or are now filming in the ATL. But, it appears as though Captain Marvel is headed to back to Cali.
Marvel Studios originally planned on filming Captain Marvel in Atlanta starting this January until it was revealed production has moved to California due to new tax incentives in the state, according to Omega Underground. In addition, the news outlet reports Atlanta has become a “very crowded filming destination for big films.”
Now, a production listing has revealed that February will be the month of the production start on the new Marvel movie.
Kevin Feige has confirmed that Samuel L Jackson will be returning as Nick Fury for the film set in the 1990s which will cover some of the Kree-Skrull War mythology.
Rogue One’s Ben Mendelsohn has been reportedly in talks to play the main Skrull villain of the film.
