FX American Crime Story announces the two lead roles in the new TV series spin off of American Horror Story
Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story is moving forward and it looks like FX is looking forward to recreating the O.J. Simpson trial. The first two lead actors announced for the series are Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson and Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson — the first season of the anthology from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk — is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s best-selling book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
The 10-episode first season examines the O.J. Simpson trial as told from the perspective of the lawyers, and is poised to explore the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court. More significantly, it will display how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.
I’m pretty sure knowing Ryan Murphy, the creator of American Horror Story, FX will have several recreations of the Simpson/Brown murder case for everyone to talk about.
Cuba Gooding Jr. is a pretty good actor considering his acting career is quite similar to O.J. Simpson. Gooding Jr. was an athlete, a comedic actor, and even had a dark side in the movie American Gangster.
We will keep you updated on all acting, and career opportunities for the new American Crime Story as soon as the movie goes into production.
